Large-scale Wind Power Slewing Ring Bearing Forgings

The ring forgings of the 6m diameter large wind turbine bearings provided by HENGIN to the Australian company have been forged and roughed. We conduct comprehensive inspections on the ring forgings to ensure the good performance of the wind turbine slewing support.
Overall Description of Forgings:
The two ring forgings are forged in one piece and then cut. At present, the inner circle and upper and lower end faces of the forging are rough-machined, and the outer circumference is the rough surface, and the whole is in the state of quenching and tempering heat treatment. The next step is to enter the semi-finishing stage.
1. Machining allowance size detection
Inspection tool: tape measure
Inspection method: select 4-6 inspection points for each piece, the average machining allowance of outer circle is 22.5mm, the average machining allowance of inner circle is 25mm, and the average machining allowance of height direction is 15mm;
2. Hardness Testing
Testing tool: Leeb hardness tester
Inspection method: select 8-10 hardness points on the circumferential end of each ring forging, and polish the hardness points. The hardness of the forgings after quenching and tempering heat treatment is HB240-280;
3. Material Chemical Composition Detection
Detection tool: Portable Spectrometer
Inspection method: The material grade is 42CrMo, and the main chemical composition symbol standard requirements;
4. Ultrasonic Testing
Inspection tool:USN60 flaw detector
Inspection method: Ultrasonic inspection is carried out on the inner surface of the upper end surface of the ring forging. The ultrasonic penetrates 4500-8000mm. The internal quality of the forging is excellent without forging defects, the microstructure is uniform and dense, and the grain level is high.
The final inspection is carried out before the product is delivered, and the whole ring forging is ultrasonically inspected; the three quenched surfaces are inspected by magnetic particle inspection; hardness inspection; size inspection according to drawings.
